This Holiest Day of the Jewish calendar follows the ten days of Repentance that began last week on Rosh Hashanah. May you be sealed for a good year!

THE WORD...LET US DRAW NEAR

Hebrews 4:12, 10:22

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.- Heb 4:12 NKJV

OPENING PRAYER

O' Mighty Father, with humble hearts we draw near on this Holy Day to worship You in fellowship and in great reverence. Thank-you for gathering us this day. With back-to-back hurricanes, Lord, we need Your strength, wisdom and love as this nation begins the process of recovery and repair. Though there has been significant loss, lives and possessions, our Faith is strong knowing that You and Your strong arm is only a whispered prayer away. Help us to draw near and stay strong in Your Holy Word through Jesus the Christ, AMEN

MESSAGE

Joh 1:1-3,14 NASB In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

From the very first moments of God's Creation of the Heavens and the Earth, His eternal invitation has been delivered to those He formed by His hands. We are to DRAW NEAR, as You bid us to COME, and Your Word is heard and felt in every part of the world. When HE speaks, it is through HIS WORD that we live, we breathe, we continue to Draw Near! The desire of our maker is to teach us, reach us, show us and grow us into the children who brings great credit to their Father, their GOD!

Jesus said, in Mat 4:4 NASB "It is written, 'MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.'" By the WORD we were created. By the WORD we are sustained!

Our Lord Jesus uses the WORD and a touch to heal; When Jesus came into Peter's home, He saw his mother-in-law lying sick in bed with a fever. He touched her hand, and the fever left her; and she got up and waited on Him. When evening came, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed; and He cast out the spirits with a word, and a touch and healed all who were ill.- Mat 8:14-16 NASB

Throughout the three year period that Jesus ministered in-the-flesh, and through His apostles, mankind learned to "Draw Near" to Him and be healed, forgiven, loved, and filled with a promise yet to come. This promise would be fulfilled in just a few more days following a crucifixion, a burial, and a raising up to Eternal life. "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."- Heb 4:16 NKJV

The heart of Jesus was troubled because of the many who would not draw near out of non-belief. The Father's love was in Him as He continued the Holy appeal to unbelieving ears; in Joh 12:45-46 NASB Jesus said; "He who sees Me sees the One who sent Me. "I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness. Draw Near to the LIGHT and hear THE WORD. That was His message. Jesus taught that the only doorway to the Father an eternal life is through Him. This requires confession with the mouth that Jesus is the Lord! The man who was crucified and then raised to life again on the third day. Call the name above all names, "JESUS" and the door will be opened to you.

SUMMARY/APPLICATION

Rev 1:5-8 NASB Jesus Christ is the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. It is He who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood— and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father—to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen.

"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."

CLOSING PRAYER

On this Holy day of worship our minds and hearts go forth in unison to all those impacted by violent wars and conflict. Terrible and massive storms and the resulting damage and deaths. In among the smoke, the rubble, the dark clouds of carnage, we see the mighty hand of God and recall the WORDS of HOLY SCRIPTURE of events in the last days. Now more than ever we need to share the warning. The Warning of what is to come and the imperative to DRAW NEAR to You, JESUS, and confess with the mouth, that YOU ARE LORD! With like minds and harmony of hearts we pray in Your name, AMEN

THE CALL

If you have never invited Jesus to be your Lord and savior, or, if you have in the past yet remain unsure of salvation and forgiveness of sin, Please pray with me now: Lord Jesus I need to fill a hole in my life that follows me where ever I go. I am a long-time Sinner and I CONFESS and REPENT of all my sins. I believe that You JESUS are the Lord, that you were hung on a cross and died. I believe that you were raised back to life by God, Your Father, ascended into heaven and presently sit at the right hand of The Almighty. Please come into be, clean me, take me and make me Yours and let me serve from this day forward and forever, Thank-You Jesus, AMEN

"NOW WHAT??"

Gen 7:17-24 KJV

And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.

OPENING PRAYER

Almighty and wondrous Father, You are the Creation. Every every tree, every bird, every human. The sun, the moon, the stars above, all the products of Your Word. We, O Lord, acknowledge that we are a troublesome creature, prone to every manner of wrong. But through Your precious Son, Jesus, we see the LIGHT of Your righteousness and long to emulate You in all things. Thank You for gathering us together in Fellowship to Worship and hear Your message on this Holy day. Grant us open ears, minds and souls as we receive Your Word from on High, in Jesus, AMEN.

MESSAGE

Gen 1:1 KJV- In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Gen 1:27-28 KJV- So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

NOW WHAT??

Gen 3:2-4,6-7 KJV- And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

NOW WHAT??

Gen 4:1-8 KJV- And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

NOW WHAT??

I cannot even begin to describe the depth and nature of our Gods patience with the creations of His hands! The Garden of Eden was perfect. Both Adam and Eve were perfect in their innocence. Perfect weather, friendly, "non-people-eating animals" all around. Life was very good! Mankind's return of God's favor, however, was to disobey God's will.

Adam and Eve were equipped with REASON. Each had the God given ability to decide, compare, make selections, forge new directions. Satan just happened to have in his pocket a master key of deception, and deceive he did! Adam and Eve chose themselves over the word of God.

Lots of things took place between the creation of the world, and this chapter. God's command "Be fruitful and multiply" was a huge success. Millions of people now inhabited the world. Millions of people discovered no limits on how cruel and vulgar they could be. Mankind did whatever he or she wanted to do with no remorse! The Lord was sorry that He had created them.

Gen 7:17-24 KJV- And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth. And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.

And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered. Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.

And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man: All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.

And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark. And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.

At long last, through a period of about a year, the waters receded, GOD opened the door to the ARK and EIGHT HUMAN BEINGS, along with many animals and creatures walked into the brilliant light of the sun. Other than the noise created by those saved, the entire world was SILENT!

NOW WHAT??

God gave the eight souls all that they needed to overcome the crushing responsibility of initiating the re-population plan of the Lord. Again, the Creator commanded them to "be fruitful and multiply". They did, and here we are!

SUMMARY/APPLICATION

In the aftermath of suffering any crisis we ask NOW WHAT?? How do we make this right? How to we stop the momentum of the events? How do we recover? We alone cannot.

Hurricane Helene is the most recent example, as it continues , this very moment, and evolve as these words are written, more deaths and carnage are being discovered! NOW WHAT??

Humanity can only apply bandages. Only GOD can heal. We turn to the Word of God for comfort and guidance. We pray. Only through prayer and faith can we be effective members of the recovery team. No special rescue equipment is needed, just a faithful heart and a sincere desire to speak directly to HE who created us, pleading for mercy and resolution.

Comforting the mourners, supporting the survivors, being a vessel of strength provided to you by the Lord for His purpose. Every NOW WHAT can be effectively addressed through the awesome power of prayer. God's unlimited Gift to His own!

This is especially true when we lose a loved one who has departed from their earthly works, having moved on to their Eternal Reward.

It falls to those left behind to mourn, to experience that emptiness in our very souls. From one moment to the next --all that which was once present is suddenly absent. NOW WHAT? We grieve. We cry. We hurt. We miss that part of us. We miss what was...on this earth.

Our solace is our faith in God's Word and in His promise that we will see each other again. That Promise is of a new beginning for those who call His name,...The BEGINNING that lasts FOREVER!

CLOSING PRAYER

Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed by Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy WILL be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Grant us Your tender touch and walk with us, side by each, on our journey, whereupon Your call to us will come. It will be our turn to finally go home to that place whence we came, where our substance was formed, in the presence of our Creator, through Jesus the Christ, Amen.
