Sunday Message

"I WILL BETROTH YOU TO ME FOREVER"

Hosea 2:19-20, Rom 1:16-17, Gen 2:24, Isa 54:5, Num 6:24-26

OPENING PRAYER

Almighty God, Precious Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, thank-You O' Great Triune for gathering us together on this holy day in fellowship and in love. We thirst for knowledge in learning the character of our Creator. We meditate on the Word written in our Holy Bible, the scripture therein becoming our life's roadmap to eternal joy in the presence of You who created us all. Open our eyes, our ears, our hearts and our souls to receive Your message and apply its teaching to our daily walk. In the name above all names, JESUS the CHRIST, Amen

MESSAGE

In Hosea 2:19-20 KJV - We find the following written: {GOD is speaking through the Prophet Hosea} "And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. (20) I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD."

According to the International Bible Encyclopedia: Hosea, in this great parable of the prodigal wife, is surpassed only by a greater Teacher's parable of the Prodigal Son, [Jesus] uses betrothal as the symbol of Yahweh's pledge of His love and favor to penitent Israel.

God's desire is to share with His creation the most intimate relationship that which is found through His Sacrament of Marriage. Certainly you would be hard pressed to find a more powerful bond of intimacy, love, respect, loyalty, fidelity and trust outside of Marriage. Our Creator elevates this bonding in marriage as supremely important in His economy. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. {Gen 2:24 KJV}

Betroth, betrothal, betroved....OH MY! This primitive root-word in Hebrew is "aras", {aw-ras}, and means to ENGAGE, ESPOUSE, for MATRIMONY.

In modern times, the betrothal period of the betroved couple begins when they publicly declare their intent and commitment to become MAN and WIFE, forever! Upon consummation of the union, the betrothal would terminate into matrimony. This was not the case, as the Lord reveals in His scripture. "Once betroved....always betroved"

God says that His betrothal is inclusive of all the elements of the definition of the term "aras". His word is and will FOREVER BE --FOREVER! That is His promise.

Years ago Linda and I, during our travels, and while attending an evening worship service on-the-road, the following scripture was preached: "For your husband is your Maker, Whose name is the LORD of hosts; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, Who is called the God of all the earth". {Isa 54:5 NASB}

What gave me pause were the first six words; For your husband is your Maker. I had never heard that verse before. The topic of that night's sermon was the marriage of Lord Jesus to His church. This verse took my breath away.

My manly Ego came to the surface and I had to pause. The thought of me, being a HUSBAND and one day soon I would be a BRIDE was pretty tough on my Brain-Box. The concept was crystal clear but the 'grasping part' was weak.

Well, it took a while but finally I GOT OVER MYSELF and the picture of this betrothal took on a beauty and majesty that only the Holy Spirit can render. Its not about me. Its not about us. It is all about HIM, our Creator, our Maker, our Savior.....say His name with me...JESUS! Say it again, JESUS! That is BEAUTY!

APPLICATION & SUMMARY

The Author of the universe, God almighty longs to have and to share with us the most Holy, most Wonderful, most gracious gift that can be given. HIMSELF.

Gen 2:24 KJV - Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. Read this verse over and over again and then let your mind absorb the magnitude of its value. When Jesus marries His Bride (that is you and me) we become one flesh, one spiritual flesh with He who made us. Who fashioned us in the womb of our mothers. He was there when we took our first breath. First lifted our tiny voice. More powerful than the bond between mother and infant, Jesus offers us an eternity of Him-- sharing His love, His strength, His Wisdom, His Holiness, His being in the most intimate and powerful bond whereby we become one in each other, FOREVER. There is no greater gift. There is no finer Grace. We are betroved forever.

WE ARE THE BRIDE--WE ARE THE CHURCH!

CLOSING PRAYER

Almighty GOD, I am breathless during this moment of great awe, having been blind, I now see. The words of my mind do not seem to carry value and weight worthy of addressing this enormous and extraordinary promise of Yours that Holy Scripture reveals to us. What better example of of the depth and breadth of Your endless love than to be joined / betrothed forever with our creator as one! Praise You Lord Jesus, AMEN.

DOXOLOGY

Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;

Praise Him, all creatures here below;

Praise Him above, Ye heav'n-ly host;

Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost

Amen

BENEDICTION: Num 6:24-26  The LORD bless you, and keep you;  The LORD make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you;  The LORD lift up His countenance on you, And give you peace. 'AMEN

INVITATION

If you have never invited Jesus to be your Lord and savior, or, if you have in the past yet remain unsure of salvation and forgiveness of sin, Please pray with me now:

 Lord Jesus I need to fill a hole in my life that follows me where ever I go. I believe that You are the Lord, that you were hung on a cross and died. I believe that you were raised back to life by God, Your Father, ascended into heaven and presently sit at the right hand of Almighty God. Please come into me, clean me, take me and make me Yours and let me serve from this day forward and forever, Thank-You Jesus, AMEN

If you sincerely prayed with me, your salvation has been assured. Waste no time in finding like minded folks, to fellowship with, who also know the lord. Be introduced to a church that preaches from the BIBLE.  Begin the journey from which you will never tire of.  Then discover the Majesty, Beauty and loving Power of Jesus the Christ. Welcome to the family!

All Seeing and All Knowing Creator, Mighty God, we gather on this Holy Day in fellowship to worship and grow in the knowledge of the Author of all things. This selfless sacrifice released those who believe and call upon His name from the sentence of Eternal Death, promising Eternal Life and Peace in Your very presence. Grant us open ears, hearts and souls as we jointly study Your Holy Word, through Jesus, Amen.

MESSAGE

Song Writer and cross-over Artist Mac Davis wrote a country song and it stirred up a lot of interest. Willy Nelson then covered that same tune and it took off like a rocket! A few years later Mac Davis, the fellow who wrote the song, re-released it and it took off again to the top of the charts. In the 70's and eventually the 80's, the lyrics harmonized and resonated among MEN and WOMEN. Being "HUMBLE" was not considered cool. Being PROUD and LOUD seemed to be the rule.

Little did we know that years later, this unchecked behavior would lead to the potential downfall of mighty nations. Here are the first few lines of the song that Davis wrote:

Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble
When you're perfect in every way
I can't wait to look in the mirror
Cause I get better lookin' each day
To know me is to love me
I must be a heck of a man
Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble
But I'm doin' the best that I can

As funny and clever as the words are, they hide a deadly problem underneath it's cuteness. The Church MUST speak out boldly against those who worship the false God; that unholy Triune known as ME--MYSELF--AND I.

BELOVED, Be warned.  This out of control behavior is tearing the world apart!

The destructive "self worshiping" lifestyle is like a cancer and has infected every part of our world. It is GLOBAL in nature, and its desire and design is to control YOU like a highly addictive psychotic drug. The Devil prescribes this affliction.

It does not heal. It Destroys. That is its purpose, that is its function; To CONTROL YOU or DESTROY YOU. We must immediately return to the path of Life and rediscover the FATHER, THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT, the antidote and cure for the cancer that is killing us.

The path of healing is well inscribed in the pages of Holy Scripture, The BIBLE:

[Rom 12:16-19 NASB] Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation.

(17) Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men.

(18) If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.

(19) Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY," says the Lord.

[Jas 2:1-9 NKJV] My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality.

(2) For if there should come into your assembly a man with gold rings, in fine apparel, and there should also come in a poor man in filthy clothes,

(3) and you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, "You sit here in a good place," and say to the poor man, "You stand there," or, "Sit here at my footstool,"

(4) have you not shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?

(5) Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?

(6) But you have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts?

(7) Do they not blaspheme that noble name by which you are called?

(8) If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF," you do well;

(9) but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors.

Let no one seek his own, but each one the other's well-being. {1Co 10:24 NKJV}

[1Ti 6:6-10 NKJV] Now godliness with contentment is great gain.

(7) For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

(8) And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.

(9) But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.

(10) For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

APPLICATION & SUMMARY

[David says] "LORD, my heart is not haughty, Nor my eyes lofty. Neither do I concern myself with great matters, Nor with things too profound for me.

(2) Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, Like a weaned child with his mother; Like a weaned child is my soul within me.

(3) O Israel, hope in the LORD From this time forth and forever". {Psa 131:1-3 NKJV}

[Jas 4:10-12 NKJV] Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

(11) Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.

(12) There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?

[Isa 57:15 KJV] For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. "Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. {Mat 18:4 NASB}

[1Pe 5:5 NKJV] Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for "GOD RESISTS THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE."

The Mac Davis song ends with "Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble, But I'm doin' the best that I can". We pray that you will continue to be meek and humble as you walk with Our Savior and King. His name is Jesus! The global death threat of "ME...MYSELF...AND...I" must be eradicated as we return to the TRINITY of the FATHER, THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT!

WE ARE THE CHURCH!!

CLOSING PRAYER

Holy Father, Mighty Lord grant us the wisdom and discipline in causing the practice of humility to become as normal as breathing. As we go our way, we pass through the carnal world. Grant us great courage and keep us insulated against the wiles of Satan, let us hold fast onto that which we have received and be strong and humble until we meet again, walking in the foot-steps by the example of our Savior, in Jesus we pray, Amen

Lk 1:45, Jn 21:14-17, Nu 6:24-26

OPENING PRAYER

Master of the Universe, Mighty Creator, Thank-You for gathering us together in Worship and Fellowship before Your throne. As it is written in Holy Scripture; "For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst."-{Mat 18:20 NASB} My Lord, You are always welcomed to reach us and teach us in the great mysteries of Your unending Kingdom. Grant us open ears, hearts and souls to receive Your Word, and such wisdom and grace to understand and apply that which we learn from Your Servant Preacher, as he speaks Your will in the name of Jesus the Christ, AMEN.

MESSAGE

The LOVE that God has for us is almost impossible to define, or quantify. In 1Jn 4:15-19 NKJV Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. (16) And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

(17) Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. (18) There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. (19) We love Him because He first loved us. What a profound portrait of the unending depth of His love for the very creation of His hands.

Eph 2:4-9 NKJV But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, (5) even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), (6) and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, (7) that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. (8) For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, (9) not of works, lest anyone should boast.

In one of the most often recited verses in the Bible, we again see the evidence of an incredible display of Love by our Creator; For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. -{Joh 3:16 NKJV } WHO DOES THIS? A Human does not have this capability or even depth of thought, reason or emotion. Its the LORD, our God, Our Savior, our King! HE DOES THIS!

Rom 8:32 NKJV He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

Psa 145:9 NKJV The LORD is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works.  Guess who His works are?  ITS YOU AND ME!!

APPLICATION & SUMMARY

God's incredible Love for His creation has no definable limits. We cannot "plumb the depth" because there is no bottom. We cannot determine the "altitude" of His Love since there is no ceiling.

The final gathering between Jesus and His Apostles before the crucifixion, was a celebration of His earthly/fleshly life. None of the attendees had any grasp of the magnitude of Jesus words and teachings. Gathering all of them to "eat" at the table, He had earlier washed their feet. He Taught them the method of sacrament by way of the Last Supper, encouraging them to do this as often as they eat in remembrance of Him. After singing hymns they departed Jerusalem heading to the Mount of Olives and the Garden of Gethsemane. As they walked, Jesus told them in Mat 26:31 NKJV ; "All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written: 'I WILL STRIKE THE SHEPHERD, AND THE SHEEP OF THE FLOCK WILL BE SCATTERED.'

Peter exclaimed that even if all the others "stumbled", that he would never do likewise. Jesus then told Peter, that before the Rooster crows this night, Peter would deny Jesus three times!!  Peter did exactly what Jesus predicted. Peter was Crushed!

Often times, our biggest and toughest challenge comes from our inability to forgive ourselves even though the Lord has already forgiven and moved on. Peter was in that mode. Fishing was the only safe place where he could think, and suffer over what he had done.

After the resurrection, Lord Jesus made a number of appearances of His faithful. Lets join the morning scene on the beach when Jesus appeared again:

Joh 21:14-17 NKJV [Here we find the word LOVE , translated from the Greek but with two differing meanings of the depth and character of what we know as LOVE]

This is now the third time Jesus showed Himself to His disciples after He was raised from the dead. (15) So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?" {AGAPE LOVE- As in do you LIKE ME more than these?}

[Peter] said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Feed My lambs." [Peter's response used a different Greek word, PHILEO, which is a much stronger and more intimate level of Love, as between husband and wife or brothers or close kin.]

(16) [Jesus] said to him again a second time, [using the AGAPE word], "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?" [Peter responded to Him in PHILEO ] , "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Tend My sheep."

(17) [Jesus said to him the third time, but used the PHILEO expression] "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You." Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep.

This beautiful exchange between Jesus and Peter shows clearly the deep Love Jesus had for Peter. Peter, like many of us, found it difficult to forgive himself when he went astray. Forgiving others for offenses seems much easier than forgiving our own stumbles. Twice Jesus asked Peter if he LIKED him better than these. Again if he liked Him directly. Then on third time, Jesus used the expression do you LOVE me using Phileo meaning the most intimate and sincere intent. It was in this moment, Peter finally realized that Jesus had truly forgiven him for his denials, and now it was time to forgive himself, opening the way for the Holy Spirit to guide and teach Peter all he would need to share the Gospel of our Lord, our Savior.

As the Bible tells us, "We love him, because he first loved us".

1Jn 4:19 KJV

CLOSING PRAYER

Holy Father, Mighty Lord grant us the wisdom and discipline in asking you to fill us to the brim with You. To be consumed by Your love and Holiness. As we go our way, passing through the carnal world, let us remain insulated against the wiles of Satan, let us hold firm that which we have until we meet again. Walking in the foot-steps and example of our Savior, in Jesus we pray, Amen

Jn15:16, Ac9:15, 1Co1:27-29, Nu6:24-26

OPENING PRAYER

Almighty God, we open this on this Holy weekend with thanksgiving in our hearts. We all are so very blessed. Blessed beyond any merit we think we might have except one! We who have gathered belong to You, we only exist because of You, and we live only at Your will. Thank-YOU! Grant us open minds, hearts and souls to the message revealed through Holy Scripture, grant us wisdom and discernment to understand and obey Your will. We pray this in the name of Jesus the Christ, AMEN.

MESSAGE

When Jesus sat down and began preparing a list of MESSENGERS or AMBASSADORS, He made it quite clear in saying: " Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain"..{Joh 15:16 KJV} Did you know that ANGELS are also known as MESSENGERS or AMBASSADORS? The Hebrew word is pronounced "mal akh", and in Greek; "presbeu" a precursor to what we know today as a "presbyter" or "Presbyterian".

Everyone of us who have confessed Jesus and been infilled with the Holy Spirit are AMBASSADORS of GOD. Our commission came from Jesus himself: in Mat 28:19 NASB "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. As we follow through on this AMBASSADORSHIP, we share the beauty and majesty of the Gospel of Christ, through our behavior, our words, our touch, our kindness and our Love.

The Lord said to [His Ambassador Ananias], "Go, for [Saul] is a chosen instrument of Mine, to bear My name before the Gentiles and kings and the sons of Israel; (16) for I will show him how much he must suffer for My name's sake." { Act 9:15-16 NASB} Little did Saul [called Paul] know then just how demanding his AMBASSADORSHIP would be, and Paul accepted it fully to his last breath.

As Ambassadors of the Living God, we enjoy the full backing of the Lord's awesome power. It is here where we are most effective as result of our adoption into the Holy Family. As Children of God, we have access to the very throne of The Creator. An awesomely wonderful tool is the power of prayer! Through this gift and privilege and well practiced Faith, even mountains can be moved! (seemingly impossible feats) We have an open channel at any hour from any location, and never receive a busy signal!!

SUMMARY/APPLICATION

1Co 1:27-29 NKJV But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; (28) and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, (29) that no flesh should glory in His presence.

Being commissioned as an Ambassador for Jesus is a really big deal. It should never be taken for granted. Instead, it should be our personal mission to conduct ourselves in a manner that reflects well on our Lord and Maker in all situations and callings. Of all the tools GOD has gifted us, the greatest is Holy Scripture, THE BIBLE. When we pray, God will often reply to us through His Word in Holy Scripture. The more you read the Bible, the more you learn about your Creator, and learn His will. As you read it, it reads you!

CLOSING PRAYER

Holy Father, Mighty Lord grant us the wisdom and discipline to fill ourselves to the brim with You. To be consumed by Your love and Holiness.

As we go our way, returning to a carnal world, let us remain insulated against the wiles of Satan, let us hold firm until we meet again.

Walking in the foot-steps of our Savior, in Jesus we pray, Amen

WELCOME TO CESM, CHRIST ETERNAL SENIOR MINISTRIES

Christ Eternal Senior Ministries

WHO ARE WE?

We are a non-denominational Domestic Missions Bible Church Ministry.  Our calling is to bring the Church and Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who can longer travel to the local physical Church. Linda and I are retired Army veterans that God has called back to Active Duty, this time serving with pride in the Army of the Lord. The Lord blessing us to serve our elders, those who have given of themselves and are now in the fall and winter of their years. These heroes from every clime, every shape, color, or size reside in Assisted Living Facilities, Nursing Homes, Memory Care Units and remain hungry for the fellowship and Truth in the WORD of God enshrined in the Holy Bible. We began this journey on Mothers Day 2015 with one facility, The Beacon in Gulf Breeze. From there it grew to six facilities, and recently, now entering our 10th year, we have purposely returned to our original facility at The Beacon in Gulf Breeze, Florida.

The Holy Spirit constantly guides, directs, and counsels us in the conduct of this DOMESTIC MISSION teaching us to "keep it simple, keep it true". Circuit Riding Preachers of yesteryear learned the value of simplicity. If it did not fit into the saddle bags of the horse, it did not come along. That tried and tested philosophy has made all the difference in the success the Lord has called and blessed us with for the last ten years. Here is a photo of the "Physical Ministry":

As you can see, if it won't fit into this platform, it does not come along. No frills. Just the Bible and the honest TRUTH of the WORD of GOD and GLORY of the living GOSPEL of Jesus Christ.

 We charge no fees, nor do we solicit.  Any unsolicited funds are quickly turned around and donated back into the community, penny for penny. Our Lord supplies everything we need and continues to do so through and by His mighty Grace, Amen.

Linda was raised Roman Catholic, and I as a Colorado Baptist.  Following four years of on-line Bible College. Co-Attending two years at Seminary using the OPEN CAMPUS privilege, along with other Southern Baptist educational opportunities, we were accepted on application, licensed and ordained by Chaplain Fellowship Ministries, International, and later advanced by hands-on commissioning to preach through a local established church. The Beacon was our start and we have now returned full time to continue the Lord's Work with this precious congregation. .

We preach the Gospel of Jesus the Christ in the context of the ENTIRE Holy Bible believing that the OLD TESTAMENT is the NEW TESTAMENT--CONCEALED-- while the NEW TESTAMENT is the OLD TESTAMENT--REVEALED!!

We long to serve the spiritual needs of the Seniors of our day; sharing the gift of the WORD of GOD, THE GOSPEL of His Son, Jesus the Christ, and the Holy Spirit.   Our Seniors supported us when we young, now we commit to supporting them in the Winter of their years.  Thank-You Holy Father, Thank-You Lord Jesus, Thank-You Holy Spirit for anointing this precious Mission, Amen.

 The Gospel of Jesus Christ is what we evangelize.

Holy Scripture is TRUTH.
