DIVINE PROTECTION OF THE DIVINE PROTECTOR

 

There are a few things that have been "dialed-back" here at home as a result of the crazy direction the world seems to have charted. Things that act like amplifiers or loud speakers blasting a constant barrage of vulgar and hate-filled messages about ....ahh....well....hmmm...EVERYTHING!

Hate this, de-platform that, ban them for life! Instead of a healthy dialogue where real information is shared and discussed, it ends up "Do as we say or be CANCELLED." (for real!)

Does God see all of this? Does He bristle over the intensity of the hatred spewed from sin infected lips? Does He see it all?   "For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His'. { 2Ch 16:9} 

 Yes! Jesus sees it all!

Y'all know that what we are seeing is just the tip of the proverbial Iceberg, right?

As this final chapter in the Lord's perfect plan continues to unfold before our eyes; as each carefully and divinely crafted piece of the Creator's puzzle fits with perfection, what is expected of us as we serve our Lord in response? What are we supposed to do?

The answer rests in the basics; We are saved by GRACE, through FAITH in JESUS the Christ, according to Holy Scripture, all in Glory to GOD!   The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, And rescues them.  O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!{ Psa 34:7-8}

When you were Born Again you become an entirely NEW creation. The Holy Spirit resides within you. The spirit is your on-board counselor and guide. It is the spirit of God that causes you to understand the Holy Scripture, and then shows you how to live by it.

In the Bible you will find instructions on how to  Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. { Eph 6:11}   He [God] will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.{ Psa 91:4}

Trust in HIM to fight the fight for you because you have no power on your own -- "The LORD will fight for you while you keep silent."{ Exo 14:14}

You are a child of God. Your Father, Abba, carries a pretty big stick. He has been dealing with Satan for a very long time. Trust fully in Him. Exercise your FAITH muscles every day and build up those FAITH Abs. The Grace will follow.

The Question was; "What are we to do?"

TRUST AND OBEY, THAT IS THE WAY!

WE ARE JUST PASSING THROUGH

 

My soul cleaves to the dust; Revive me according to Your word.-Psa 119:25

Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.  Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.  For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.-Col 3:1-3

For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;  who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.-Php 3:20-21

For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.-Gal 5:17

So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh— for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.-Rom 8:12-13

Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul.

HAVE I COME TO GRANT PEACE ON EARTH-----NO----DIVISION!!!

DIVISION.  Every direction I look today there is DIVISION. Not just definable division, but in your face anger and deep seated hatred.   From the late 1960's to this very day, we have watched a slow-motion removal of the "Spiritual Magnetism" of our Moral Compass.  God's given internal tool that points to righteousness.   As we look into the bezel to establish our direction, our reference, the compass needle is constantly moving, never remaining constant.  The "Magnetism" missing is our belief and trust in God.  The scary part is that what we are seeing and experiencing is not just in the United States, it is popping-up all around the globe!

It really does not take a rocket scientist or a doctor of Theology to see that what is developing is different.   Something new has developed that demands attention.    Chapter 12 of the Gospel of Luke was flashing like a neon sign tonight.  "Be dressed in readiness, and keep your lamps lit.  "Be like men who are waiting for their master when he returns from the wedding feast, so that they may immediately open the door to him when he comes and knocks.- Luk 12:35-36      I think that most of you reading know exactly what the Lord is announcing.  He is really, really close and we had better be ready when the Trumpet or Shofar begins to sound. "Whether he comes in the second watch, or even in the third, and finds them so, blessed are those slaves.- Luk 12:38

Jesus was clear and to the point when he was addressing the multitudes gathered before him;   Luk 12:51-53  "Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? I tell you, no, but rather division;  for from now on five members in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three.   "They will be divided, father against son and son against father,  mother against daughter and daughter against mother,  mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law."    Look around.   What do you see?

Our Lord is delivering a clear warning of what is about to unfold. Do you remember that old Sailor's poem from many years ago;  RED SKIES IN MORNING, SAILOR TAKE WARNING. RED SKIES AT NIGHT A SAILOR'S DELIGHT!   If you have not REPENTED and received Jesus Christ as your SAVIOR, I urge you to do so today, right now, this very minute.   Do not delay!

For those in whom the Spirit of God lives, open your eyes to what is demanded of you! SHARE the beauty and Glory of being BORN AGAIN. To becoming a new person through the blood of our Lord Jesus. Share with your neighbor your personal story of SALVATION.   How it was that YOU CAME TO THE LORD. It is your story. It is truth.  It is beauty and it should be shared. No one can tell your story like you can tell it.  It happened to you.   Just share it!   The Lord will do the rest!!

"You too, be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour that you do not expect." -Luk 12:40

THE BRIGHT MORNING STAR

 

"I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star."-  "I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near; A star shall come forth from Jacob, A scepter shall rise from Israel, And shall crush through the forehead of Moab, And tear down all the sons of Sheth.-Rev 22:16, Num 24:17

"Until the cool of the day when the shadows flee away, Turn, my beloved, and be like a gazelle Or a young stag on the mountains of Bether."-The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, "I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life."-Joh 8:12

IN THE GARDEN

 

I recall fondly being with my grandfather, Earl Thompson at his homestead house on the high desert plains of Colorado. I could not have been but about 4 or 5 years old at the time. Today I was going to help grandpa bring in water for the house from the well. As we walked along the path, grandpa would sing a song that I had heard many times from my dad. I had no grasp of its meaning, but I knew what a garden was and here I was ready to help with a chore. The tune was a hymn, and it held significance with two of my heroes, Dad and Grandpa.

In my later years as I spoke with my daughter on the telephone, she told me she had purchased a copy of that old hymn. I shared with her that my elders sang the song when I was just a pup.

The Story Behind In The Garden

Here is the account of how this beautiful hymn was written from the hymn writer, C. Austin Miles, himself, “One day in April 1912, I was seated in the dark room where I kept my photographic equipment, and also my organ. I drew my Bible toward me and it opened at my favorite book and chapter, John chapter twenty. I don’t know if this was by chance or by the work of the Holy Spirit. I will let you the reader decide. That story of Jesus and Mary in John 20  had lost none of its power and charm.

It was though I was in a trance, as I read it that day, I seemed to be part of the scene. I became a silent witness to that dramatic moment in Mary’s life when she knelt before her Lord and cried, “Rabboni”. I rested my hands on the open Bible, as I stared at the light blue wall. As the light faded, I seemed to be standing at the entrance of a garden, looking down a gently winding path, shaded by olive branches. A woman in white, with head, bowed, hand clasping her throat, as if to choke back her sobs, walked slowly into the shadows. It was Mary. As she came unto the tomb, upon which she placed her hand, she bent over to look in and ran away.

John, in a flowing robe, appeared looking at the tomb. Then came Peter, who entered the tomb, followed slowly by John. As they departed, Mary reappeared leaning her head upon her arm at the tomb, she wept. Turning herself, she saw Jesus standing there, so did I. I knew it was He. She knelt before Him, with arms outstretched, and looking into His face cried, “Rabboni”.

I awakened in sunlight, gripping my Bible with my muscles tense, and nerves vibrating, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. I wrote as quickly as the words could be formed the lyrics exactly as it is sung today. That same evening, I wrote the tune. It is sung today as it was written in 1912.”

Although Dad and Grandpa have been gone a very long time, I can still hear their voices echo in the archive of my heart.

In The Garden

I come to the garden alone, While the dew is still on the roses;

Holy Spirit, Lord God, Thank-You for placing this missive in my heart tonight. Thank-You for Mr. C. Austin Miles, and thank-You for my daughter whose love of Jesus is second to none. WALK IN FAITH AND NOT BY SIGHT

 

It is a cold and blustery day. Much of the nation also feels the chill. Looking out through the window gusting winds are introducing evidence of its existence as the trees and bushes were blown back and forth. Turning my eyes back to the computer screen, I realized that electricity was key in providing the power to make all of this tech stuff work. Neither the wind, nor the electricity or even GRAVITY was visible. They are INVISIBLE. Did I doubt for a moment that these were not real, or impactful? So what's the deal believing in God?

The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are likewise invisible yet man seems less willing to see or attempt to comprehend the evidence and deduce the existence and power of GOD. Even when it is YOU, your very body, eyes, hands, ears and mind that renders the most compelling witness that HE IS as the Holy Bible records: Though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him,you learn to believe as a child. That is to say, BELIEVE as a child believes. For we walk by faith, not by sight-1Pet 1:8, 2Co 5:7

Through the physical witness of the compelling evidence all around us, and in all that we see, and experience, we have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. He gave us FAITH and in that FAITH we find that God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.-1Jn 4:16    We can be ever so very thankful for this gift, We love, because He first loved us.-1Jn 4:19

In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,...to the praise of His glory.-Eph 1:13-14

God's merciful gift of FAITH when leaned upon, builds the foundation that strengthens belief. We are weak in our doubts, not accepting what the eyes cannot see, nor the hands feel.    Jesus said to him, "Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed."-Joh 20:29    I have never seen GRAVITY but I certainly have tangled with it numerous times!!   Every beat of your heart is witness to HIS awesome power of Creation.

Leaders of world nations should be strongly cautioned to foster and pray that God give you strong FAITH so as not to be on the wrong side of God.    Now therefore, O kings, show discernment; Take warning, O judges of the earth.   Worship the LORD with reverence And rejoice with trembling.   Do homage to the Son, that He not become angry, and you perish in the way, For His wrath may soon be kindled. How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!-Psa 2:10-12
