ELECTION 2020--IN GOD WE TRUST

CALL TO WORSHIP The great Blessings of our Lord and Savior JESUS the Christ be with you this Lord's Day, NOVEMBER 1st, 2020. We are gathered and the very Spirit of God is present and in our midst. Welcome Lord Jesus, YOU are always welcome and we humbly revere Your Name, Amen. Being the FIRST SUNDAY of a new month, we shall Recall the horrible price Jesus paid that you and I might be freed of the sentence of eternal death. Jesus took our place before the executioner, and through His precious blood, --we who believe and have called His name-- were regenerated and granted SALVATION unto Eternal LIFE in the Kingdom.

-------->[LORDS SUPPER]<-------

PRAYER: FATHER GOD, SOVERIGN POWER OF ALL CREATION, WE COME BEFORE YOU WITH GREAT REVERANCE AS WE PREPARE TO COMMERATE AND RECALL WITH BITTER ANGUISH, THE SACRIFICE OF YOUR ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, JESUS THE CHRIST. YOU HAVE PREPARED FOR US A FEAST; AND THOUGH WE ARE UNWORTHY TO SIT DOWN AS GUESTS, WE WHOLLY REST ON THE MERITS AND GRACE OF JESUS, AND HIDE OUSELVES BENEATH HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS. IN THIS SUPPER, WE WILL REMEMBER HIS ETERNAL LOVE, BOUNDLESS GRACE, AGONY AND COMPASSION ON THE CROSS. IN HIS RESURECTION, WE LOOK FORWARD TO HIS RETURN , AMEN.

Mat 26:20-25Now when evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the twelve disciples. (21) As they were eating, He said, "Truly I say to you that one of you will betray Me." (22) Being deeply grieved, they each one began to say to Him, "Surely not I, Lord?" (23) And He answered, "He who dipped his hand with Me in the bowl is the one who will betray Me. (24) "The Son of Man is to go, just as it is written of Him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born." (25) And Judas, who was betraying Him, said, "Surely it is not I, Rabbi?" Jesus *said to him, "You have said it yourself."

[PENALTY CAUTION]

1Co 11:27-28 Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. (28) But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup. PRAY NOW SILENTLY; examine yourself in His presence and be assured that you are indeed a believer, a Follower of Jesus Christ and are prepared to reverently recount His blessed gift that set all of us free through His death on the Cross.

Jesus washed us clean of our sins, once and for all time through the spilling of His blood on that old cross. His resurrection to life is testimony of this promise and the fulfillment of Biblical prophesy. It is through this emblematic eating of the bread and drinking of the wine that we commemorate and properly honor His sacrifice until His return.

[THE SUPPER]

Mat 26:26-29While they were eating, Jesus took some bread, and after a blessing, He broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, "Take, eat; this is My body." (27) And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you; (28) for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins. (29) "But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's kingdom."

CLOSING PRAYER: Father, we commemorate and celebrate the memorial of Your Son. By means of this HOLY BREAD and CUP of WINE, we show forth the sacrifice of JESUS death and proclaim HIS resurrection, until HE comes again. By HIM, with HIM, and in HIM, in unity with the HOLY SPIRIT, all honor and glory is Yours, Almighty Savior, now and forever, AMEN.

THIS CONCLUDES THE LORD'S SUPPER AND WE CONTINUE TO THE SERMON

SERMON SYNOPSIS Pastor Charles Spurgeon {1834-1892}wrote a sermon called "The Right Observance of the Lord's Supper". He delivered that address Sunday evening, June 4th, 1882 at the Metropolitan Tabernacle in Newington, England.

I quote: "When we observe the Lord’s Supper, we feel a deep and earnest desire that none should come to the table in ignorance of the significance of the observance—or that, at least, ignorance may not be an occasion of eating unworthily—but that we may comprehend what we are doing and understand the spiritual meaning of this pictorial instruction by which the Lord Jesus Christ would, even until the end of the age, remind His Church of His great sacrifice upon the cross." [Unquote]

OPENING PRAYER Almighty God, thank You for this gathering of the Saints eager to hear with open ears. Give me words, O' Creator, that will reverently reflect Your majestic will and intent in the giving of Your only begotten Son that-- the sentence of eternal death might be satisfied and death being overcome through the precious blood of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Through the washing and regeneration of our souls by His blood, our sins are cleaned once for all time by this mighty BLOOD sacrifice. Teach us, reach us, show us, grow us all in His wonderful name, AMEN.

SERMON AS I began writing this sermon, the PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION-- that is now only 48 hrs away-- was going to be the center piece. Then the Holy Spirit took me by the hand. From within and He said that the focus should not be on the loud and vulgar voices of politicians and those who bring violence on the innocent. JESUS should be our focus-Frontand "Center-most" in our hearts and minds from sun to sun, in darkness as well as the light. Our thoughts should be pointed to eternity, and the Kingdom. He reminded that we all have much work yet to do in sharing the Gospel that Christ died for-- on that old RUGGED cross.

Lord Jesus commanded us to "Do this", {referring to the taking of the Lord's supper,} "in REMEMBERANCE of me". [Christ Jesus].

The honor of Remembering Jesus is evidence of a past, or ongoing association or relationship with Christ. How could we justify remembering unless we knew Him? It is through our FAITH that you and I know Jesus - through our studies and God's revelation. Through the salvation resulting in His shedding of His own blood for His Father, taking OUR PLACE --Thesentence of death was carried out.--IN HIM. His sacrifice released the believer from SIN and from Eternal death.

If you had no such relationship with Jesus, there would be nothing to remember; you would have no right to come to His table and eat of His bread, or drink of His wine. We must believe that Christ Jesus is the Lord, the Son of Almighty God. This is the FIRST and FOREMOST requirement in order to have an invitation to eat from the Master's Table.

{SIDE NOTE}-- We must be nourished if we are to live. We take in nourishment so that our lives can be sustained. Same is true spiritually, our Souls must also be nourished in order to thrive. Our Lord really stirred up a hornet's nest when He spoke of Eating His body and drinking His blood--

Joh 6:53 So Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves.

Many of His "FOLLOWERS" suddenly lost interest while thinking of cannibalism. Jesus, of course was teaching the spiritual nourishment of our souls. Not the actual eating of his physical body, nor the drinking of His actual physical blood. Many departed. Christ saw the confusion in His Apostles, and ask of them if they too desired to walk away. Peter replied on their behalf: Joh 6:68 ..."Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life.

It is through our remembrance and being faithful to this supper, this ordinance, that we satisfy the Lord's command; to reverently recall the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior.

The letting of blood, sprinkling, washing, anointing -- these are key in the atoning or sealing process that God was first to initiate after the fall. The first blood sacrifice was when God slaughtered animals to clothe Adam and Eve in skins. {Gen 3:21} The message was clear, the price of SIN is paid in BLOOD.

The Sealing of the Israelites at the first Passover in Egypt demonstrates the confirmation of the promise delivered by God through Moses. Jesus uses the juice of the vine, the blood, as it were, to SEAL His new covenant with man. By taking of the cup, we EMBLEMATICALLY satisfy the third leg of the REMEMBRANCE TRIAD; Thanksgiving, The Bread (Body) and the CUP (Blood) heralding our active participation in this Commanded Ordinance.

With affection and love, beloved , I pray that you have a greater understanding and appreciation for the beauty and holiness of the Lord's Supper as we regularly do -- with great reverence each month-- when we approach the Master's Table.

SUMMARY Jesus represents LIFE ETERNAL to those who acknowledge and confess HIS NAME. Jesus is the embodiment of RIGHTEOUSNESS, GRACE, MERCY, and LOVE. Jesus is the the STANDARD by which all TRUTH originates, now and forever. It is our privilege and our honor to Sup with the Master at HIS table and recall HIS gift of PROPITIATION IN HIS BLOOD that sets us free. THIS IS THE TRUTH!

CLOSING PRAYER Father, this has been a very challenging year. The Pestilence that was unleashed has taken a great toll on the world. Its not over yet, O' Lord. Storms, destruction, riots, murder, division, hatred, violence and attempts to remove all traces of You from the public square fill the 24-hour news /Social media blocks. Amongst all of this we still have vast and powerfully effective populations of YOUR Children who share the TRUTH to all who have ears to hear and eyes to see. Empower and protect these God-Loving populations, these OBEDIENT servants and enrich their messages to bring Godly results before your throne, in the name of Your Son Jesus the Christ, AMEN.
