2020 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

 

In 30 days or so, many of you will go to the polls and make a number of choices, many of which will have a mighty influence on how America will proceed as the land of the free and the home of the brave. I am in my 70's. Many of you are my senior, some the same age, and more are my junior in age. The year 1967 ushered in new movement that now has overtaken our collective common sense.

Books began being published claiming that there were thousands of differing shades of gray between good and evil. Belief in the Bible and in God was moved eventually to last place in America's moral conscience. More books touted that everyone was a winner! Losing was no longer possible, and certainly losing was not fair. Books on this, books on that, but the most important book of all was consulted less and less as time went on and generations past away. 

 

Today nearly three quarters of earth's population have never looked inside the Holy Bible. Ever! In my youth I can't recall meeting many people who could not recall a proverb, psalm, or at least a Bible based expression that was found common in our everyday language. In elementary and Jr. High we used to start the school day with a prayer. Oh, and the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag!  One Nation...UNDER GOD!

 

This is a very important election. We are living in the last days. It ain't gonna get much better from here on out. The best we might expect is that the Lord will grant us a very short delay. He did as much with a place called Nineveh many years ago. [Jonah 3:4-11]

Look around. What do you see?    We read in Luke 12:52-53,  for from now on five members in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three.  "They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law."  I say again, Look around. What do you see?

As God is my witness, I pray that you will use every biblical lesson you have ever learned in weighing your selections.  JESUS is binary.  He is either Holy or He is not. You either believe or you do not. Sin is sin.  Killing children in the womb is wrong.  Fornication is wrong.  Worshiping idols is wrong.  Stealing from your employer is wrong. 

 

Someone I know told me that the church should not comment on politics. The reason that politics have turned so ugly and evil is because the church was removed from its role as a beacon and guide for what the TRUTH looks like. I could not care less about somebody's political affiliation. I care DEEPLY about RIGHT and WRONG,  GOOD and EVIL.   I care even deeper about LOVE and TRUTH.   GOD Almighty sent me here and now to write and to  tell all of you to call His name.  Pray for guidance.  Make good choices based on His authority, He is the one who created YOU! 

 

Before you walk into the polling place, or complete your Absentee ballot, PRAY.  Ask The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit to guide your hand in making the selections.  Vote for returning GOD to our schools, the public square, the family dining room, and to the empty heart who longs for righteousness and truth.  Then VOTE.

IN THE WORLD YOU HAVE TRIBULATION

  Weeping may last for the night,

But a shout of joy comes in the morning.

He will swallow up death for all time, And the Lord GOD will wipe tears away from all faces, And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; For the LORD has spoken.--Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.-- Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.  Isa 25:8--Rev 21:1--1Th 4:17-18

The Lord never promised that we would not suffer. In fact He warned that we who believe will be afflicted. His promise is that He would be with us through thick and thin every step of the way. BELIEVE! Wait on the Lord!

HURRICANE SALLY

 

SPECIAL PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING

HURRICANE SALLY SEPTEMBER 14th-17TH, 2020

O' Mighty Creator, Father, Son, Holy Spirit, we lift our joined hearts in humble prayer of thanksgiving and awe and wonder, and reverence for Your divine hand of protection during the hurricane named SALLY that came to call on us this past week.

THANK-YOU Lord for lending us Your protective mantle to cover us as this storm made a slow, grinding path through our land. It was not unlike the grinding forces of the mill stone as it crushed objects in its path and YOU-- our GOD-- provided what was necessary to keep us safe during arrival, full storm, and the departure-- that process taking over THREE days.

It has not been lost on us, Father, that there were SEVEN storm systems active in the Atlantic and Gulf when SALLY reached our shores. SEVEN being a significant number in Your Majestic economy, Lord. We are alert, as believers, as Your elect, that we are seeing strong evidence of the prophesy as written in our Bibles unfolding before our very eyes.

As the Great Shepherd You have shown clearly how You care for and protect Your flock, and we are so in AWE over Your immense power, but especially the tenderness of Your caring hand. From grateful hearts we pray our joint Thanksgiving to You, Great Trinity, for covering us with Your mighty hand in this storm and all storms that may trouble this world.

In the Precious name of JESUS the CHRIST, AMEN.

FOUR FACES AND THE GOSPEL

 

What a blessing to have A.W. Tozer's beautifully written teaching about the Gospel connection of our Lord Jesus and the Living Creature with four faces. The LIGHT of the WORD shines brightly, Amen

 

Tozer:

The first living creature in Revelation was like a lion. The second was like an ox. The third had the face of a man. The fourth was like a soaring eagle. Lion - king of beast. Ox - beast of burden. Man - what we are. Flying eagle - at home in the heavens. Do you perceive a larger picture developing ? Did you know that for centuries Christians have seen these same "faces" in the four Gospels of the New Testament ? Matthew's is the gospel of the King. Mark's, the gospel of the suffering Servant. Luke's the gospel of the Son of man. John's the gospel of the Son of God.                                               

God has put Jesus Christ's picture everywhere ! Four living, immortal creatures before the throne. Four loving, adoring, worshiping beings, faithfully and forever devoted to the purpose of praising God and the eternal Son, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! Make no mistake about it. The imagery is plainly the gospel of Christ. He is what Christianity is all about. 

The characteristics of the lion are power and dominion. The lion is king. The glory of a king does not lie in his own person but rather in the character of his people. The glory of this noble and kingly Person, Christ Jesus, pictured as the lion, lies in the fact that He rules a people who are supremely and perfectly happy.             

The ox is the willing burden-bearer, obedient even to sacrifice. In the Old Testament system, there was little for the ox to look forward to except sacrifice, blood, and death. The ox is a symbol of God's great plan of atonement and redemption through Jesus Christ.  

                                 

The third being, John testified, had a face like a man. The symbolism of the Son continues, for Jesus became Man and lived among us the He might die for us ; "For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister and to give his life a ransom for many". ( Mark 10;45).  

                        

Finally, the eagle-like fourth living creature was a flying, soaring being. Earth may be the eagle's resting place, but the heavens are its habitat. Jesus was the Son of man, partaking of our humanity, but He was also the Son of God - "very God of very God," as the fathers phrased it in the Nicene creed. --

DEATH WAS SWALLOWED UP

 

 "O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?"-1Co 15:55

First came the sin. Sin then escorted death into being. As God spoke to Adam, He delivered the first of the oral laws; "Don't eat the fruit of that tree in the middle of the garden". To do so, God proclaimed that it would result in death. (Gen 2:16-17) Not just death and then NOTHING. It would be the worst death of all. Eternal darkness, anguish and suffering. Eternal meaning FOREVER!   The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law;  but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.- 1Co 15:56-57

The law was never intended for those who embrace right from wrong. The law was made to make man aware of what activity or behavior results in purposeful sin. Once the law was introduced, man no longer had the excuse of ignorance. It was the law that convicted man.

 

In Heb 9:26-28,   Jesus was "manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.  And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,   so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him".

Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, [meaning that we were humans], He [Jesus] Himself likewise also partook of the same, [Born of a woman, but SIN-LESS] that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,  and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.-Heb 2:14-15 The slavery meaning here is being tightly bound to evil and sin. A most horrible and powerful imprisonment.

Sin was introduced into the world by a perfect man, Adam. Before pride and lust consumed him, Adam and his wife Eve were flawless, innocent, without blemish or wrinkle. The moment of deception took place with Eve. The moment of purposeful and sinful decision occurred with Adam. Neither Adam nor Eve took responsibility for THEIR decisions. When first confronted by the Lord, the finger pointing began. It continues to this very day in us! Our ONLY release from Adam's sin, is through another Perfect man. His name is Wonderful. 

 

Imagine for a moment that you are there at the cross up on Golgotha. The smell of death is strong in the air, the skies are dark, the wind is picking up, the ground begins to shake as The Christ Jesus draws His last breath and breathes no more. As every muscle becomes flaccid, you notice something incredible. The palms of His hands are facing outwards, toward your view. THERE, right there in that moment... you see clearly written on the palm of his right hand a name. You rub your eyes as the heart in your chest pounds. The name is YOUR NAME. Crying out you fall to your knees, then onto your face shouting "O' Lord

My GOD, I have seen the TRUTH!

YOU WILL BE LIKE GOD

 

The serpent said to the woman, "You surely will not die!  "For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."-Gen 3:4-5

What a statement. What a promise. You will be like GOD! Let me see if I understand the Devil's proposal; once the eyes are opened to see and relate to such things as LUST, PRIDE, DECEIT, LYING, HATRED, VIOLENCE, MURDER and VULGARITY, life will suddenly be such a joy and you will be in charge of it all! Is that the deal? This is the inverse of the Golden Rule. Instead of "Do unto others as you would have done to you", Satan is proposing "Do TO Others before they DO IT TO YOU!" (and I assure you...they will)

God created an innocent couple, the First Couple. He commanded that they be the caretakers of the Perfect Garden, the Perfect Paradise. He instructed them to be fruitful and to multiply. They were both naked and neither found any shame because it was the normal innocence of their being. They had sexual relations triggered by instinct. LUST had not yet been invented. It was perfect. All that Satan had to do was create a deceptive doubt. Plant a suggestion that would lead to turning their back to God's command. They opened the door wide to temptation. Not only were they naked of body, they were naked of mind and of spirit. Innocence was gone in an instant. SIN had been ushered into perfection and mankind was doomed to eternal death!

God gave us His only Son, the cherished begotten of Himself. This Son, this God man suffered a horrible earthly death, shedding His perfect blood to atone for the moment of LUST commited by Adam and Eve.

Our Lord has given the believer supernatural tools with which we can protect ourselves from bending to the temptation of the Serpent, and the Lady who rides on his back. We find these tools in Holy Scripture. God's Operations Manual for man and woman kind:

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.  Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.  Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.  Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS,  and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE;  in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.-Eph 6:10-17

We all wear clothes to cover our nakedness, to protect our bodies from the elements. Should we not also wear protection for our very souls? Before stepping out and into this world, be sure you are properly dressed, properly protected. Its in the Book!
