DO WHAT YOU DO --DO WELL!

In HIS Glory, Do What You Do - Do Well!

Rom 12:11-13  not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;  (12)  rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer,  (13)  contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality. This quote from Paul in Romans is the tail end of an extensive list of Saintly characteristics we all should embrace and practice.

King Solomon, "The Preacher" extensively studied, tried, tested, and evaluated these tenants, boiling it down to a very short but sobering conclusion:   Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might; for there is no activity or planning or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol [the grave] where you are going. Ecc 9:10.

Thus the TITLE of this submisson, "Do What You Do - Do Well".   Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men,  (24)  knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve. Col 3:23-24. The imperative in the title is, of course, "In HIS Glory".

It is not necessarily what specifically you do but that you do what ever that thing is to the best of your ability and do it to bring glory to Your Creator.
Knowing that whatever good thing each one does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether slave or free. Eph 6:8. We must work the works of Him who sent Me as long as it is day; night is coming when no one can work. Joh 9:4. It is Jesus who should be in the foreground of your mind in all the things that you do, what ever that might be.

Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble;  (11)  for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you. 2Pe 1:10-11. And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end,  (12)  so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Heb 6:11-12.

In 1 Corinthians 9,  Paul refers to The Race that we, who believe in and have been baptized through the Holy Spirit, must run. Running with all diligence with one goal in mind. To maintain that pace, make our bodies submit to the demands set forward and cross the finish line. The prize is Eternal Life in LIGHT and not DARKNESS and anguish. This prize is FOREVER!

Finish well my beloved, cross the finish line into Glory!
