THINGS WHICH ARE REVEALED

Things Which Are Revealed

The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever. {Deu 29:29}

There is a very special giddiness that forms deep in my heart when the Lord reveals a mystery or a secret or an unexpected connection when studying the Holy Scripture. The feeling is pretty overwhelming. Some verses or chapters I have read hundreds of times but on this day, The Lord reveals something entirely new and previously unseen or unconnected. I call it my BIBLICAL EPIFANY.

O LORD, my heart is not proud, nor my eyes haughty; Nor do I involve myself in great matters, Or in things too difficult for me.  Surely I have composed and quieted my soul; Like a weaned child rests against his mother, My soul is like a weaned child within me. {Psa 131:1-2}

 In this psalm, David opens his heart to the Lord, and rightfully places himself in the proper position of submission to the Lord who created all that is.

King David has seen up close and personal how God deals with lofty egos, and malplaced confidence in themselves. In Psa 25:14, we read;  The secret of the LORD is for those who fear Him, And He will make them know His covenant.

Daniel goes even further when he writes; "However, there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will take place in the latter days. {Dan 2:28} He can reveal mysteries to you as well.

If The Holy Spirit reveals, and then for a time conceals, it is during these "Dry Spells" that we suffer great hunger for a morsel, a crumb, anything that might fall from His table of knowledge, but as we read in Job 26:14 ; "Behold, these are the fringes of His ways; And how faint a word we hear of Him! But His mighty thunder, who can understand?"

As the shadow of the Cross loomed closer in the final earthly days of our Savior Jesus, God incarnate opened his heart wide to the disciples, speaking without allegory; "No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. {Joh 15:15}

"If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.   "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;   that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. {Joh 14:15-17}
