O Death, where is thy sting?
There exists a huge chasm between those who have accepted Christ Jesus into their hearts and souls and those who deny the need. In John 14:6, Jesus tells us; "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me". No one!
Each one of us has an EXPIRATION DATE known only to God. Not a single one of us will avoid this eventuality. If there was ever a common ground for all -- it is death. From this earth, in this body, we will all expire on time--His time, on His clock. Do you have Jesus?
I used to think that if I did just enough good things, you know, enough to outweigh all the BAD stuff that I might sneak into heaven by the skin of my teeth. I'm glad I found out before it was too late that there are no degrees of success in salvation. It is one or the other. Either you ARE saved or you ARE NOT. No middle ground. No grading on a curve. It is all or nothing. The ALL is HEAVEN. The NOTHING is HELL. I love all of you enough to tell you the truth. There is no middle ground.
We are saved by GRACE. An undeserved gift from God. There is nothing you can ever do to earn it. It can't be bought, traded or bartered. GRACE through FAITH in Jesus Christ. This is truth directly from scripture. All of this is for the glory of our Lord. No short-cuts. No back doors.
So many failed in their thinking that if they followed the letter of the Mosaic Law, this would be a golden ticket into heaven. DO you want your Golden Ticket? Invite Jesus in to your heart. Let Him rearrange your spiritual furniture. Let Him show you THE WAY. He is the ONLY door.
"O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?" The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. - Otherwise, He would have needed to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now once at the consummation of the ages He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him. 1Co 15:55-57-Heb 9:26-28
Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. Heb 2:14-15
The Apostle Paul was once a chaser of THE LAW, and in his zeal a great many new Christians were persecuted, placed in prison or stoned to death for their belief. Then he met Jesus on the road to Damascus. In his declining days Paul reflected on the changes Jesus made in him and the beauty it was to share the terrible suffering with his Lord and Savior, Jesus of Nazareth. He wrote: For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing. 2Ti 4:6-8
