OUR BROTHER, OUR LORD!

OUR BROTHER, OUR LORD

Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. Heb 2:17

Born in Bethlehem, raised up in Nazareth, to all appearances, just another male child growing, learning, loved by his mother and his father. Just a normal kid by any standard measure at the time.

The Bible is silent on details of Jesus younger days, beyond a few precious snippets. Registered as the son of Joseph, young Jesus learned the carpentry trade at his earthly dad's hand. Mother Mary held Him in her heart as He grew from a toddler to a teen to a man.

So, just how does a "sinless" child successfully negotiate the perils of Satan throughout His formative years to arrive error free into adulthood and subsequently through the Cross?

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. Joh 1:1-5, 14

The sinlessness of Jesus is His natural state. He is Lord. Even in the earthly body of a child, a teenager, a man, He is God! He is SINLESS because He IS! He can be no other way. HE IS HOLY.

Jesus was not of the seed of Adam, the seed that ushered in death and sin into each of us. Jesus was of the seed of His Father. Without error. He is Holy. This Holy man, this Savior, this Christ who gave His life and shed His blood that you and I might live; He called those who believe His brothers!

But Jesus answered the one who was telling Him and said, "Who is My mother and who are My brothers?" And stretching out His hand toward His disciples, He said, "Behold My mother and My brothers! "For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven, he is My brother and sister and mother." Mat 12:48-50

Praise You Jesus! Praise You in the highest! Praise Your Holy Name!
