THE LOVE OF GOD

Hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. {Rom 5:5}

Kings will be your guardians, And their princesses your nurses. They will bow down to you with their faces to the earth And lick the dust of your feet; And you will know that I am the LORD; Those who hopefully wait for Me will not be put to shame. {Isa 49:23}

Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD And whose trust is the LORD. -- Trust in the LORD forever, For in GOD the LORD, we have an everlasting Rock. {Jer 17:7 -- Isa 26:4}

My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be shaken. -- For this reason I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day. {Psa 62:5-6 -- 2Ti 1:12}

In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. {Heb 6:17-20}

The more you read your Bible, the more the Bible reads you. Praise God Almighty!

WOLF SUPER BLOOD MOON

Did you step out last night, January 20th, 2019, and gaze at the so called "Wolf Super Blood Moon"? My Linda and I did. So did our neighbor and fellow believer John and his family. Under crystal clear skies and bitterly cold air we braved the shivers in order to glimpse at a brilliant pure white moon seemingly being devoured by an unseen force reducing it's brilliance to a unimpressive dark rust colored orb hanging helpless in the star-filled expanse of heaven. Did I mention that it was really cold?

The icy air probably kept many folks huddled in the warmth of their houses; watching TV. Perhaps they thought it might be shown on the news. Alas, it is only an eclipse. We had several over the past few years. Tonight we channel surf!

What I expected and what I witnessed were far apart. The promotions for this "Spectacular" and extremely "RARE" event caused me to envision a scene like the blood moon that hung over Jerusalem not long ago. Or, as seen in Greece recently. We, in the USA, were not positioned to view those history making moons. Too far North, or much of the country skies being cloud decked. Blood Moons that become visible near the horizon always look so much more impressive and large. The earth's atmosphere acting like a magnifying glass.

John and his kids were wrapped up in heavy blankets laying under the canopy of heaven in their yard across the street. Snug as bugs in a rug, as my dad used to say. I elected to stand and end up getting a crick in my neck staring at God's messaging system for His creatures who inhabit this Third Rock from the Sun. There it was. Directly overhead. Crimson red, rusty, like dried blood. An overwhelming sense of awe filled my whole being.

The Spirit that filled me came not from the visual grandeur, instead, great reverence that in His "quiet voice" that He used to instruct Elijah at the mouth of the cave; When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. And behold, a voice came to him and said, "What are you doing here, Elijah?" { 1Ki 19:13}

This darkened Orb, nested against the universe as a backdrop, seemed small. It commanded no immediate attention. It was not as Hollywood might portray it. Directly overhead. Unassuming. Hardly noticeable unless you knew to look.

My imagination went to reading of the blood moon in scripture, Joel 2:31, Acts 2:20, Revelation 6:12. I recalled studying in seminary about the blood moon influence in heralding significant milestones involving Israel. The number seven is common, as are multiples, seven sevens, seventy and so on. Consider the following;

The period between the destruction of the first temple in Jerusalem in 586 BC to the completion of the second temple was 70 years.

From the start of the first Jewish revolt against the Romans in 66 AD [which included the destruction of the second temple in 70 AD] to the end of the third revolt was 70 years.

From the first Jewish purchase of land in Palestine in 1878 to the establishment of modern Israel in 1948 was 70 years.

Now we come to last night and the "Wolf Super Blood Moon", it occurred 70 years from the establishment of the the Jewish homeland and this included President Trump's proclamation recognizing that Jerusalem is the rightful capitol of Israel, and moving the U.S. Embassy to reflect and honor that agreement made many years ago but ignored by past presidents. The Biblical prophesy recorded in Jeremiah 16: 14-16 has been fulfilled. The Blood Moon signaled all of these events.

As I gazed up at God's message board in the sky, my mouth opened and I praised the Father, I praised the Son, and I praised the Holy Spirit for having granted me the great privilege, the blessing to be filled with the breath of life and witness His majesty, His promise, His power and His love, His quiet voice from the heavens.

The Almighty Creator spoke last night. Quietly, unassumingly, to those who will hear saying, " Yes, I am coming quickly" {Rev 22:20}

Will God indeed dwell with mankind on the earth?
2Ch 6:18

The short answer is YES! Perhaps the question should read; Will God dwell AGAIN with mankind on the earth? The response is, once again, yes! On at least two occasions, God has walked here on earth among men. In the garden of Eden, {Ge 3:8}, and within the human body of Jesus of Nazareth. {Lk 2:11} God was manifest in the Spirit many times throughout the Old Testament. We are in the end times. Very soon, everyone will see the return to the earth of He who created all that is or will ever be. Some will be very joyous, others, not so much.

God walked with and talked with Abraham, the father of whom would be the chosen people of the Lord {Genesis Chapters 12-25}

God made His earthly presence known in the burning bush to Moses; {Exodus Chapter 3}

"Let them construct a sanctuary for Me, that I may dwell among them." {Exo 25:8} Man obeyed and built the first tabernacle. This sanctuary was portable, called the Tent of meeting. {Exodus Chapters 26 and 27}

"I will meet there with the sons of Israel, and it shall be consecrated by My glory. (45) "I will dwell among the sons of Israel and will be their God. {Exo 29:43, 45}

Jesus the Christ was fully man and fully God. For thirty three years He breathed the same air and walked the same earth as mankind did. The witness of His presence with us on earth is undeniable. His life and His death was the perfect atonement in blood that corrected the horrible error of Adam, through which sin and death was ushered into this world and into the seed of mankind. His suffering and death on the cross at Calvary made it possible to finally, once and for all time, to escape the bondage and eternal death earned us by Adam's fall.

Those who believe, who have taken into their heart the salvation promise of our Lord, these precious souls became the sanctuary, the tabernacle, the temple through the in-dwelling Spirit of Jesus the Christ. In 2nd Corinthians Chapter six, verse sixteen we read; ..For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, "I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? {1Co 6:19}

In whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit. {Eph 2:22} -- "And the nations will know that I am the LORD who sanctifies Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forever."'" { Eze 37:28}

How wonderful it is, as a believer, to be within 12-inches of the living God at all times and at all places. You see, it is precisely 12-inches from the center of your mind to the center of your heart--where HE dwells within you. You are the temple in whom lives the Almighty God!

JESUS PAID IT ALL
HYMN - Words: Elvina M. Hall, Music: John T. Grape

I hear the Savior say,
"Thy strength indeed is small!
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all."

Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain--
He washed it white as snow.

Lord, now indeed I find
Thy power, and thine alone,
Can change the leper's spots
and melt a heart of stone.

Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain--
He washed it white as snow.

And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete,
"Jesus died my soul to save,"
My lips shall still repeat.

Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain--
He washed it white as snow.

Psalm 57:7 My heart is steadfast O God, my heart is steadfast;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises!

SHOW UP -- BE AVAILABLE

During the course of our walk with and progress as we serve our Lord,
a very common question often pops up. What am I supposed to do? Another inquiry often heard is; How do I do what ever it is that I am supposed to do?

Most preachers and teachers are very good at the expository practice of squeezing every delicious drop of theological juice out of a single verse or word in the Bible. You know what I mean. I know a wonderful man of GOD who can spend a month of Sundays "UNPACKING" what the meaning of the word "IS" is. Really!

Other Evangelists can be witnessed pontificating picture perfectly in a preponderance of expressions using platitudes at latitudes where the air is thin and I leave the sermon gasping for oxygen, questioning my own ability to understand even the simplest allegory expressed from the pulpit.

The brother sitting next to me kept sighing, "Oh how deep and rich are his words" (referring to the Preacher). I then asked him to explain to me what the preacher had just preached. It was a deer in the headlights moment! A good many theological truths were expressed, some serious doctrinal parameters delivered, and not a single one of them stuck in the brain box. But for two hours, it sure sounded good!

This old gray headed former Army ground pounder loves to learn. Teach me what it is I need to know. Show me how to do it. Use the K.I.S.S. method, Keep It Simple Saint! Show me. Reach me. Teach me.

Serving Jesus does not have to be complicated. It does have to be sincere. Serving Jesus is hard. He never promised it would be otherwise. Although hard, it is never, ever, impossible. God will never give up. You shouldn't either.

Step ONE: Be Available. Every single morning before your feet hit the floor, greet Jesus, tell Him you love Him. Say it out loud. Make a promise, a commitment that you will be available for His purposes this day, no matter where you go, no matter what you will be doing. Stick to that promise through out the day. Constantly repeat that promise to yourself and to Him all day long. Make it a daily promise. Everyday!

Be real. Be yourself. You were born with God given talents, characteristics, personality and abilities that are specific to you. Use these gifts to bring glory to God, to Jesus our King. Look for, search out opportunities to meekly, but boldly say His name JESUS to others. Be constantly ready to share the blessings of God to others. Don't be a chatter box, or be obnoxious.

We are generally the quietest persons in the room. We smile a lot! (that drives Satan crazy) Be available for the Lord to use YOU to do His bidding. Often, you will not even know it when it happens, when He does His work through you. I assure you, if you are available, He will.

Step TWO: SHOW UP. Drag out your Bible and turn to Ephesians Chapter 6, Verses 10-20. Armor UP, Show UP, Be ALWAYS at the ready.

Don't stand around with your spiritual hands in your pockets. No matter where you go, no matter what you do, be ready to tell others about your own personal experiences regarding the Glory of Almighty God's blessings that He has bestowed upon you. Watch how the Holy Spirit will send folks to you. Causing them to cross your path. When you share your own testimony with others, letting it flow from your heart, that is God working through you. The JOY you will receive when you are available, when you show up, and HE uses you, is beyond any description I can give here.

Keep it Simple Saint. SHOW UP, BE AVAILABLE!

I now send you, to open their eyes, that they may receive forgiveness of sins.... {cf Acts 26:17-18}

FAITH HAS MADE YOU WELL

"What do you want Me to do for you?" And he said, "Lord, I want to regain my sight!" - And Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight; your faith has made you well." {Luk 18:41-42}

OH MY GOSH! Did you see that? Bartimaeus, a poor blind beggar had been shouting at Jesus "Son of David, have mercy on me!". Others nearby were shushing the man telling the beggar to be quiet, but he continued shouting. Jesus stopped, asked the man what he needed, and then Jesus spoke the WORD and the man was healed. "Receive your sight; your faith has made you well."

The poor old man had FAITH. Faith that the Lord could give him what he so desperately needed, return of his sight. Was it the WORD or was it the FAITH that healed? Did one support the other? Will one work without the other?

You and I, creatures created by the WORD and hand of GOD, are saved into salvation by GRACE alone, through FAITH alone, in CHRIST alone, according to SCRIPTURE alone, for the glory of GOD alone.

When Bartimaeus asked Jesus to restore his sight, he already had the FAITH that Jesus could do this thing. Jesus saw the man's FAITH and it was strong. He granted his request through GRACE through the man's FAITH by His WORD.

When you have FAITH -- The Bible, comes alive with example after example of true events that defy earthly understanding. Take a look:

Open my eyes, that I may behold Wonderful things... {Psa 119:18}

Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.. {Luk 24:45}

"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. {Joh 14:26}

Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. {Jas 1:17}

I Pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might, AMEN {Eph 1:17-19}

SING A NEW SONG

Sing to the LORD a new song, Sing His praise from the end of the earth! You who go down to the sea, and all that is in it. You islands, and those who dwell on them. {Isa 42:10}

Sing for joy to God our strength; Shout joyfully to the God of Jacob. (2) Raise a song, strike the timbrel, The sweet sounding lyre with the harp. -- O send out Your light and Your truth, let them lead me; Let them bring me to Your holy hill And to Your dwelling places. {Psa 81:1-2, Psa 43:3}
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." -- Do not be grieved, for the joy of the LORD is your strength." {Jos 1:9, Neh 8:10}

Do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we believed. (12) The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. (13) Let us behave properly as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and sensuality, not in strife and jealousy. (14) But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts. {Rom 13:11-14}
