Walk in
the Newness of Life
Therefore
we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as
Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so
we too might walk in newness of life. {Rom 6:4}
I
am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For
just as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and to
lawlessness, resulting in further lawlessness, so now present your
members as slaves to righteousness, resulting in sanctification.
{Rom 6:19}
Therefore
I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a
living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual
service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be
transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what
the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
{Rom 12:1-2}
Therefore
if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed
away; behold, new things have come. {2Co 5:17}
For
neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new
creation. And those who will walk by this rule, peace and mercy be
upon them, and upon the Israel of God. {Gal 6:15-16}
So
this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no
longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind,
{Eph 4:17}
But
you did not learn Christ in this way, if indeed you have heard Him
and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, that, in
reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self,
which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and
that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new
self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness
and holiness of the truth. {Eph 4:20-24}
