COME

"Therefore, behold, I will allure her, Bring her into the wilderness And speak kindly to her. {Hos 2:14}

In a wonderful and deep expression of His great love and patience, God invites in a tender manner, His people to distance themselves from the unbelieving. Those who follow idols into unimaginable sin. His mighty tether of grace is now taut and retribution is near.

"Therefore, COME OUT FROM THEIR MIDST AND BE SEPARATE," says the Lord. "AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN; And I will welcome you. (15) Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? {2Co 6:17,15}

The Lord has made it very clear that He is at the end of His patience and will soon destroy that which is vulgar and vile. In a more tender and loving approach, God extends His hand in an effort to spare from the horror of His wrath, Jerusalem, Judah, in fact the entirety of His beloved Israel. Like a loving father, God pleads to the tender hearts of His creation to repent and turn away from idol worship and spiritual whoredom. Just as a father would plead with His child who is afflicted, so our Father stands with open arms to receive us.

God's patience and tender invitation went unanswered. Destruction and bondage ensued. Satan's grasp on mankind is strong but is no match to the power of God through Jesus Christ. When you call on Him, He battles the devil on your behalf. Just believe. Repent, turn from your sin. Open your heart.  He waits for you.

Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. {2Co 7:1}

Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffered outside the gate. (13) So, let us go out to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach. {Heb 13:12-13} And He *said to them, "Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while." ...{Mar 6:31}

The very hand of Christ is extended to you. Through His death and the shedding of His blood, your decision is all that holds back the promise of eternal joy and life in the presence of He who created you.

Say YES!

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. (2) He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. (3) He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. {Psa 23:1-3}

On Mission
Love Shed Abroad

GRACIOUS GOD,
My heart praises thee for the wonder
of thy love in Jesus;
He is heaven’s darling, but is for me
the incarnate, despised, rejected,
crucified sin-bearer;
In him thy grace has almost out-graced itself,
In him thy love to rebels has reached its height;
O to love thee with a love like this!
My heart is stone, melt it with thy love,
My heart is locked, let thy love be the master key
to open it;
O Father, I adore thee for thy great love
in the gift of Jesus,
O Jesus, I bless thee for resigning thy life for me,
O Holy Spirit, I thank thee for revealing to me
this mystery;
Great God, let thy Son see in me the travail
of his soul!
Bring me away from my false trusts to rest in him,
and him only.
Let me not be so callous to his merit
as not to love him,
so indifferent to his blood
as not to desire cleansing.
Lord Jesus, Master, Redeemer, Saviour,
come and take entire possession of me;
this is thy right by purchase.
In the arms of love enfold and subdue
my wilful spirit.
Take, sanctify, use my every faculty.
I am not ashamed of my hope,
nor has my confidence led me into confusion.
I trusted in thee regarding my innumerable sins,
and thou hast cast them behind thy back.
I trusted in thee when evils encompassed me,
and thou broughtest me out into a wealthy place.
I trusted in thee in an hour of distress,
and thou didst not fail me, though faith trembled.
O God of the eternal choice,
O God of the restored possession purchased
on the tree,
O God of the effectual call,
Father, Son, Holy Spirit,
I adore thy glory, honour, majesty, power,
dominion for ever.

[With grateful thanksgiving to Arthur Bennett and the Banner of Truth in the Valley of Vision Collection for this wondrous prayer, Amen]

Oh Lord, Oh Lord, I am Saved!

Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith. {Heb 13:7}

Do you remember that day, that hour, that very moment that the Holy Spirit infiltrated your entire body, and in the name and the grace of Jesus Christ you were saved?

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; (9) not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. (10) For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. {Eph 2:8-10}

Did you notice how your outlook and attitude immediately changed regarding sin? How you avoided, like the plague, those sinful ways you once were formerly so comfortable doing? Yeah, you lost some long time friends over that huh? But you stayed true, kept your nose in the Good Book and learned many great truths!

...For it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. {Php 2:13}

How about your realization that you had absolutely nothing to do with winning or deserving this salvation? That as a wretched sinner you were once rolling down the Interstate Highway to HELL? You remember that, don't you? It was a tough road, and in some areas, it still is. Good News! Your Lord has been with you every step of the way.

Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, (6) who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. {2Co 3:5-6}

Now that we have looked in our rear-view mirrors and saw the joy of our salvation, and the promise of joyful eternity, in His presence, look in the mirror again. This time, take an accounting of all the things you have done for the Lord since you were saved. Look for the fruit of the Word you have harvested in His name. Whats that? You say the fruit seems to need a bit of work? Your efforts for the Lord have been a bit side-tracked the last few years? If this is the case, please consider this a heartfelt and loving reminder that He holds you very precious in His sight and would certainly enjoy hearing your prayers again. He has also placed several folks in your path who recognize His glow in your behavior. You say you had'nt noticed them? Why not try moving the Lord higher on your planning calendar again. Somehow He has slipped to the bottom half of the priorities list.

How about doing that today?

Oh, and did I tell you....He loves you?

"LET HIM WHO BOASTS, BOAST IN THE LORD."
1Co 1:31

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, (10) nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. (11) Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. {1Co 6:9-11}

And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, (2) in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. (3) Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. {Eph 2:1-3}

He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, (6) whom Hepoured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior. {Tit 3:5-6}

I HAVE ANOINTED YOU, ACT LIKE IT !
(From the Voice inside of me)

Upon rising in the morning, as my foot touched the floor, these words came to me from deep inside, clear, strong, and demanding in power speaking to my soul:

Ecc 9:10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might; for there is no activity or planning or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol where you are going.

Col 3:23-24 Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, (24) knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.
Eph 6:8 Knowing that whatever good thing each one does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether slave or free.

Joh 9:4 "We must work the works of Him who sent Me as long as it is day; night is coming when no one can work.

I must be about My Father's business.

Joh 2:17 ...."ZEAL FOR YOUR HOUSE WILL CONSUME ME."

2Pe 1:10 Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble.

Heb 6:11-12 And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end, (12) so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

1Co 9:24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.

Your Kingdom Come

Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. {Mat 6:10}

"In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever. - "You continued looking until a stone was cut out without hands, and it struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and crushed them. {Dan 2:44, 34}

Now having been questioned by the Pharisees as to when the kingdom of God was coming, He answered them and said, "The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed; (21) nor will they say, 'Look, here it is!' or, 'There it is!' For behold, the kingdom of God is in your midst." {Luk 17:20-21} - And He was saying to them, "To you has been given the mystery of the kingdom of God, but those who are outside get everything in parables, (26-29)...."The kingdom of God is like a man who casts seed upon the soil; (27) and he goes to bed at night and gets up by day, and the seed sprouts and grows—how, he himself does not know. (28) "The soil produces crops by itself; first the blade, then the head, then the mature grain in the head. (29) "But when the crop permits, he immediately puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come." { Mar 4:11,26-29}

"For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will. {Mat 24:44}

"I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star." (17) The Spirit and the bride say, "Come." And let the one who hears say, "Come." And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost. {Rev 22:16-17}

Multi-Tasking on a Biblical Scale

Pastor T. Austin Huggins, IV of Christ Evangel Christian Fellowship recently delivered an exceptionally bold and stimulating exposition entitled "The Kind of Prayer God Accepts" www.christevangel.org

Joh 15:7 "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

As Pastor Huggins developed then unwrapped those vital elements needed in order that our prayers might be heard by our Creator, I was overwhelmed by the COMPLEXITY of the SIMPLENESS of prayer. I know that does not make sense, but, please read further...

Mar 11:24 "Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.

We on the Gulf Coast of the U.S. just dodged a major bullet by only 78 miles when Hurricane Michael came calling this morning. All of us living in the Florida panhandle had been on pins and needles for days as this behemoth of a storm approached. It did not disappoint.

My Brother {in Christ} John, who is also my neighbor, called my attention to the awesomeness of prayer as God hears thousands, perhaps millions of prayers everyday, but especially in times of great conflict or tribulation. John opined that the Father hears each and every prayer that the Holy Spirit, through Christ Jesus formats for His ears to hear. Each one. Individually. Thoroughly. Completely. God then formulates and speaks an answer to those prayers, according to His will. We marvel at the immensity and grandeur and unlimited capability of He who created us. Mentally, this to me is overwhelmingly complex. Read further...

Heb 10:19-22 Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, (20) by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, (21) and since we have a great priest over the house of God, (22) let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

This day, thousands of souls cried out to God in the name of His Son Jesus, through the Holy Spirit asking to be spared, for relief from suffering and devastation. At the same time He attended to the prayers from millions around the globe. Tonight thousands more call upon God, in prayer just like children calling out to their Father in times of trial and distress. We are granted direct audience with the Creator of all that is, and all that will ever be. Almighty God! The simplicity of prayer and its effectiveness rests in Salvation through Faith alone, in Christ alone.

Joh 15:16 "You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.

This is God's gift to us through Jesus. How special is that?

The Mighty Magnet
Charles H. Spurgeon

"And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself."
{Joh 12:32}

Come, ye workers, be encouraged.
You fear that you cannot draw a congregation.
Try the preaching of a crucified, risen, and ascended Savior; for this is the greatest "draw" that was ever yet manifested among men.
What drew you to Christ but Christ?
What draws you to Him now but His own blessed self?
If you have been drawn to religion by anything else, you will soon be drawn away from it;
but Jesus has held you and will hold you even to the end.
Why, then, doubt His power to draw others?
Go with the name of Jesus to those who have hitherto been stubborn and see if it does not draw them.

No sort of man is beyond this drawing power.
Old and young, rich and poor, ignorant and leaned, depraved or amiable--all men shall feel the attractive force.
Jesus is the one magnet.
Let us not think of any other.
Music will not draw to Jesus, neither will eloquence, logic, ceremonial, or noise.
Jesus Himself must draw men to Himself; and Jesus is quite equal to the work in every case.
Be not tempted by the quackeries of the day; but as workers for the Lord work in His own way, and draw with the Lord's own cords.
Draw to Christ, and draw by Christ, for then Christ will draw by you.

Walk in the Newness of Life

Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. {Rom 6:4}

I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, resulting in further lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness, resulting in sanctification. {Rom 6:19}

Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. {Rom 12:1-2}

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. {2Co 5:17}

For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. And those who will walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God. {Gal 6:15-16}

So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind, {Eph 4:17}

But you did not learn Christ in this way, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth. {Eph 4:20-24}
