You
shall call His name Jesus
(Heb
4:15) For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our
weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet
without sin.
Mighty God, creator of heaven and
earth, thank-you for this time of study. Please bless our time
together as we wash ourselves in the Word, Amen.
In review; God created the heavens and
the earth, and out of the earth God made man. From man, God made
woman. Both were without sin. God planned for Adam and Eve to care
for His creation, especially the Garden of Eden, and commanded that
they be fruitful and multiply as all other living creatures, each to
their own kind. Eden was truly heaven on earth. Life was good! They
had one law they had to obey. Just one! Don't eat the fruit of the
tree in the middle of the garden.
We know that Satan {characterized as a
snake} convinced Eve to taste the fruit, and she in turn brought Adam
into the mix. Adam clearly knew better but allowed pride to rule and
the result was the unleashing of Sin and Death upon all mankind.
Every man was now infected through the seed of Adam. Since the
sentence of eternal death was already pronounced, the eternal future
did not look too bright.
(Luk
1:30, 31) The angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary; for
you have found favor with God. "And behold, you will conceive
in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.
Since
all of mankind shared the same infected seed of Adam, a new sinless
man would have to be born. Not of Man's seed, but of God's. This
Jesus, a sinless man, would willingly take upon His shoulders the
sins of all mankind forever and then willingly be executed in our
place to satisfy the sentence for the “Original SIN”. Sinless
man unleashed SIN and DEATH upon all. Only Sinless man could make
right that original wrong.
In
our next meeting, we will begin to fill in many blanks using
scripture to tell the wonderful TRUE story, the WHOLE story. Won't
you join us?
Oh
Father, we truly love exploring the Word through the Holy Bible.
Thank-you for the blessings and the thirst to know the truth, and to
know you and your plan for each of us. In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen.
