THE
CARPENTER'S SON
"Is
not this the carpenter's son? – "Can any good thing come out
of Nazareth?" --
"Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and have a
demon?" – "He casts out the demons by the ruler of the
demons."-- "Give glory to God; we know that this man is a
sinner."-- He leads the people astray."-- "This fellow
blasphemes."-- 'Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a
friend of tax collectors and sinners!'
"It
is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher, and the
slave like his master. – For this finds favor, if for the sake of
conscience toward God a person bears up under sorrows when suffering
unjustly...For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ
also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in
His steps: WHO COMMITTED NO SIN, NOR WAS ANY DECEIT FOUND IN HIS
MOUTH; and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while
suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him
who judges righteously. – If you are reviled for the name of
Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests
on you.
