God
has made me fruitful in the land of my affliction.
Blessed
be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies
and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so
that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with
the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For just
as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our
comfort is abundant through Christ.
In
this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if
necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the
proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is
perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in
praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
But
the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that through me the
proclamation might be fully accomplished, and that all the Gentiles
might hear; and I was rescued out of the lion's mouth.
Therefore,
those also who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust
their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right.
