DECLARATION
For
[we are not] ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of
God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and
also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed
from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
{ Rom 1:16-17 KJV}
SABBATH
MEDITATIONS :
On
the Tenth of the Hebrew month of Tevet, the Jewish People remember
the day King Nebuchadnezzar laid siege to Jerusalem.
That terrible siege lasted three years
and culminated in the
destruction of the First Temple
and the exile of the Jewish People to Babylon.
The
day is not far off, however, when God will pour out the Spirit of
Grace on His People, and they will understand that Yeshua
is the Messiah. (Zechariah
12:10–14)

Mighty
Father, Awesome Creator, with humble hearts we gather this Holy Day
in worship and reverential fear to express our deep faith and love to
you who first loved us. It is with thanksgiving in our hearts that
we are granted the open scripture recording the events painting a
vivid picture in our minds, hearts and souls as to what was witnessed
and documented. Receive our collective praise and adoration for Your
only begotten Son, Jesus the Christ, the Messiah, AMEN.
MESSAGE
Jesus,
so named at birth, born of
a virgin in
Bethlehem, raised in Nazareth,
the long predicted and expected Messiah was indeed among
us. His arrival was right on time! The birth took place right where
it had been prophesised. His rejection would also follow as recorded
in Holy Scipture, well in advance of His arrival and ministry.
The
first prophetic allusion to the coming KING appears
in Genesis 3 and verse 15: (God
is speaking) "And
I will put enmity between you [serpent]
and the woman, and between your seed [Satan]
and
her
seed [Jesus] He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his
heel.".
The prophesy of
Christ's coming is
throughout the Old Testament, and the birth is foretold in Isaiah
7:14-
Therefore
the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall
conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.
Immanuel means; God With Us.
The
day that the Spirit of God was born of a woman, to a young virgin
named Mary who was betrothed to Joseph of the line of David and his
throne--the
child,--
the KING of KINGS was first introduced to the world not by Royalty,
or through a Potentate.
The Lord Jesus was received by the lowly Shepherds of the Flock in
fields nearby. Shepherds
receiving their Chief Shepherd and they
were
full of joy!
The
Bible is silent on the early days of Jesus childhood. Since
Joseph was a carpenter, it would be reasonable to assume that Joseph
began teaching young Jesus the art of woodworking at an early age.
We
next see him with his family in Jerusalem, attending Passover and
perhaps preparing
for
his Bar-Mitzvah
the
following year, since
the bible mentions his age being 12 years. We don't know for certain,
but we do know that the most senior of Rabbis were most impressed
with this child's scope and level of knowledge as young
Jesus
easily conversed and responded to questions with authority
and intuitive answers.
It
was common in that day that
Rabinical Theologians
began
their ministry at or about the age of 30;
Then
Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him.
And
John tried to prevent Him, saying, "I need to be baptized by
You, and You are coming to me?"
But
Jesus answered and said to him, "Permit it to be so now, for
thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness." Then he
allowed Him.
When
He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and
behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and [John]
saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.
And suddenly a voice
came from heaven, saying, "This
is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
{Matthew
3:13-17}
John
1:19-28-
Now this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and
Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, "Who are you?"
He
confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, "I am not the
Christ."
And
they asked him, "What then? Are you Elijah?" He said, "I
am not." "Are you the Prophet?" And he answered, "No."
Then
they said to him, "Who are you, that we may give an answer to
those who sent us? What do you say about yourself?"
He
said: "I am 'The voice of one crying in the wilderness: "Make
straight the way of the Lord," ' as the prophet Isaiah said."
Now those who were sent were from the Pharisees.
And
they asked him, saying, "Why then do you baptize if you are not
the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?" John answered them,
saying, "I baptize with water, but there stands One among you
whom you do not know. It is He who, coming after me, is preferred
before me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose."
These
things were done in Bethabara beyond the Jordan, where John was
baptizing.
The
next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold!
The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
This
is He of whom I said, 'After me comes a Man who is preferred before
me, for He was before me.'
I
did not know Him; but that He should be revealed to Israel, therefore
I came baptizing with water."
And
John bore witness, saying, "I saw the Spirit descending from
heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him.
I
did not know Him,<-(31)
but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, 'Upon whom
you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who
baptizes with the Holy Spirit.' And I have seen and testified
that this is the Son of God." {John 1:29-34-NKJV}
Again,
the next day, John stood with two of his disciples.
And
looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, "Behold the Lamb of
God!"
The
two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.
Then
Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them, "What do
you seek?" They said to Him, "Rabbi" (which is to say,
when translated, Teacher), "where are You staying?"
He
said to them, "Come and see." They came and saw where He
was staying, and remained with Him that day (now it was about the
tenth hour).
One
of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon
Peter's brother. He first found his own brother Simon, and said to
him, "We have found the Messiah" (which is translated, the
Christ). And he brought him to Jesus. Now when Jesus looked at him,
He said, "You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called
Cephas" (which is translated, A Stone).
The
following day Jesus wanted to go to Galilee, and He found Philip and
said to him, "Follow Me." Now Philip was from Bethsaida,
the city of Andrew and Peter.
Philip
found Nathanael and said to him, "We have found Him of whom
Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote--Jesus of Nazareth,
the son of Joseph."
And
Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?"
Philip said to him, "Come and see." Jesus saw Nathanael
coming toward Him, and said of him, "Behold, an Israelite
indeed, in whom is no deceit!"
Nathanael
said to Him, "How do You know me?" Jesus answered and said
to him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig
tree, I saw you."
Nathanael
answered and said to Him, "Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You
are the King of Israel!"
Jesus
answered and said to him, "Because I said to you, 'I saw you
under the fig tree,' do you believe? You will see greater things than
these."
And
He said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you
shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending
upon the Son of Man."
On
the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother
of Jesus was there.
Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to
the wedding.
And
when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, "They
have no wine."
Jesus
said to her, "Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me?
My hour has not yet come."
His
mother said to the servants, "Whatever He says to you, do it."
Now
there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner
of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons
apiece.
Jesus
said to them, "Fill the waterpots with water." And they
filled them up to the brim.
And
He said to them, "Draw some out now, and take it to the master
of the feast." And they took it.
When
the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and
did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the
water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom.
And
he said to him, "Every man at the beginning sets out the good
wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You
have kept the good wine until now!" This beginning of signs
Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His
disciples believed in Him. {John 2: 1-12, NKJV}
After
this He went down to Capernaum, He, His mother, His brothers, and His
disciples; and they did not stay there many days.
Now
the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
And
He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and
the moneychangers doing business.
When
He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple,
with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers' money and
overturned the tables.
And
He said to those who sold doves, "Take these things away! Do not
make My Father's house a house of merchandise!"
Then
His disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal for Your
house has eaten Me up."
So
the Jews answered and said to Him, "What sign do You show to us,
since You do these things?" Jesus answered and said to them,
"Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."
Then
the Jews said, "It has taken forty-six years to build this
temple, and will You raise it up in three days?" But He was
speaking of the temple of His body.
Therefore,
when He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had
said this to them; and they believed the Scripture and the word which
Jesus had said. {John 2: 13-22, NKJV}
SUMMARY/APPLICATION
How
did so
many Jews fail to recognize the fulfillment of Scripture and
MISS OR
DISMISS THE
MESSIAH'S ARRIVAL
COMPLETELY?
How does this denial still have massive impact on the Chosen People
of God, the Jewish Nation? An answer
will be
shared here today and expressed in the simplest of terms: In
light of Old Testament records of war after war, battle after battle,
win one, lose three, the Jewish expectation was that the Messiah
would arrive on a powerful steed, all armored up, sword in His hand,
ready
to destroy all of their enemies.
They
imagined a warrior.
They
received a meek and humble man. The very Son of God! Oh, we all will
see the arrival of a WARRIOR. How will He be received, O'
Non-beliver? Will you remain "stiff-necked" then?
Jesus,
Messiah, was born of a woman. Raised just like all children. At age
12, Jesus counseled the most senior rabinical leaders in
Jerusalem and
those
attending
truly marveled at His remarkable knowledge and what
they
sensed as
authority. In His 30th year, His ministry began following Baptism.
His entry into Jerusalem was not on horseback, the symbol of war. The
King rode instead
on
a donkey, symbol of PEACE. {Mat
21:4-10}
History

prophesy

SON
OF GOD!
CLOSING
PRAYER

finally revealed to all who have eyes to see and ears to hear and
understand clearly Messiah has come.
He
was crucified and raised to life again.
When
He returns, we all will see Him riding a white horse, prepared for
the final battle. Won't
you embrace the LORD now, today? In the Name of Jesus the Christ,
this we pray, AMEN
